Public Service Announcement

Note: a couple of my friends have put this up on their LJs, so if you've answered it already, thanks!

I have a friend who is writing his master's thesis in Economics on the topic of "bads"--that is, goods which are bad for you. Part of his research involves a survey on smoking. Behind the cut below is a 44-question survey that I would like you to fill out. All of the questoins are yes/no or one word answers.


1. How old are you?

2. Are you male or female? (choose one)

3. Please state the highest level of education attained or the amount of years of formal education beyond high school/lycée (if applicable).

4. Do you live with your parents or at a separate residential address?

5. Does at least one person with whom you live smoke at least 2 cigarettes weekly, in your presence? Y/N

6. In what country have you spent the majority of your life?

7. What city do you presently live in?

8. Do you engage in some form of exercise/physical activity regularly for at least 3 hours a week? Y/N

9. Do you occasionally engage in the consumption of alcohol without reaching the point of inebriation (social drinking)? Y/N

10. If yes, do you drink socially at least two nights a week? Y/N

11. On average, do you go to bars at least once a week? Y/N

12. On average, do you go to dance clubs at least once a week? Y/N

13. Have you ever seen a “no smoking” advertisement? Y/N
