Passing the Buck is Fucked

Montreal subway security guards had no choice but to stand by and watch a woman being beaten up by her partner at a downtown station because police now oversee the transit system, says the president of the guards' union.

How can anyone just stand by and let this happen, regulations or not? This is exactly what happened to that poor girl who was left for dead for 3 hours in a parking lot next to Vendome station. The people in the building saw the woman suffering, but their supervisor told them to not get involved, and they didn't even call the police.

I'll be writing letters of complaint to the cops and the STM, and I encourage you to do the same.

If anyone knows of an ombudsman's office for the cops and the STM, please let the contact information in my Comments.

So what exactly is the role of STM security? They sure as heck don't check whether people have POPs (Proof of Payment)...

*cough* The girl at Vendome wasn't dead. Just so you know.

Personally I think it's worse that she wasn't dead (just naked, unconcious, and raped, oy) and people didn't investigate. I heard stories about people in the nearby office building looking down at her lying there and laughing.

People suck.

It sounds like the union is useing this "incident" to make a point. Nice.
