Back in business
Sep. 11th, 2008 02:41 pmBack in February 2008, while I was happily ensconced at Autodesk, I absentmindedly let my business website registration expire. I wasn't really worried about it since I thought I wouldn't be going back to the freelance biz.
But in July, I found myself back in the freelance biz.
I was horrified to realize that someone else had absconded with my domain name! The weird thing was that whoever registered www.documentia.ca, they weren't doing anything with it. I found out which company had registered the name and contacted them for more info. They said they believed that the website would become available again soon and I should sit tight.
After tightly sitting for a few weeks, my patience has paid off and the website is once again available! So I have re-registered it and have configured it to point to my current web host. The folks at Namespro were very helpful and I highly recommend them to anyone.
So my website should be live again in about 12 hours. Whew.
And... I'm happily listening to Hober.com on RealPlayer at work. My new client has some draconian ideas about blocking websites that allow streaming media, but I've managed to find a way around it.
