Sometimes stories don't have a "point" other than the whole story being the "point". The first story is an outrageous tall tale that gets crazier and more unbelievable as it goes. It's a genre and not everyone likes it.
As for the errors, we will have to fix that stuff up in the second printing. After awhile, it gets tough to stay objective enough to spot everything. Hopefully, the errors don't distract too much from the enjoyment of the stories.
I have a couple of shows coming up in October, so I'll let you know!
