We went to see Clone Wars last night. Being a Star Wars geek, I enjoyed it. The animation CGI was fantastic; just the texture of the objects/faces on close-ups was incredibly detailed. The lightsaber truly is the coolest weapon ever. Search your feelings, you know this to be true. I also saw and loved the 2D animated Clone Wars clips that aired last year, but the movie has nothing to do with that series, although the art design is still based on Genndy Tartakovsky's work (and I'm a huge Genndy fan).

But the Voice Direction! OMG. It was some of the WORST voice direction I have ever EVER heard. It suddenly makes you appreciated good voice direction, realizing that there is something to be said for how lines are to be delivered. Granted, the dialogue was mediocre, but its delivery was so wooden, you you wanted to spray it with Liquid Pledge.

The only original voice actors they got were for Dooku (Christopher Lee), C3P0 (Anthony Daniels), Mace Windu (Sam L. Jackson). All the others were no-names who spent their screen time trying to sound like their original counterparts. Apparently, Ewan MacGregor has only one inflection style whether he's having tea with Yoda or slicing through a droid.

Speaking of droids, the only parts of the movie where I laughed was when the droids spoke. Figures that the monotonic robobts got a better response out of me than the flesh-blood types. Not having to worry about mimicking a predecessor meant that they could focus on delivering their lines properly.

Overall opinion? Go see Dark Knight again. Rent a DVD or download it if you must, or just watch the upcoming Clone Wars series coming to TV soon. The storyline was meh. The voice direction is incredibly bad. The CGI is awesome, but doesn't make up for its flaws.
