Teeth Extracted
Oct. 3rd, 2008 12:52 pmSo it's been 24 hours of non-solid, cool food since my dental surgery and so far, all is well. I went into to the dentist office yesterday morning and the surgery was a success. My cracked wisdom tooth that has been causing me severe pain all this summer is finally gone, along with another wisdom tooth that was falling out.
I haven't been put under like that since I was 10 years old. It was so weird: one minute I'm talking to the doctor and the next minute I'm awake and asking the nurses when we're going to get it started. They smiled and replied "It's all done. Your teeth are out."
A friend came to get me at the dentist (good thing too 'cause I would not have been able to walk out, much less drive) and brought me home. I picked up my drugs (two pain killers and some antibiotics). The pain isn't too bad today, so I'm only taking the painkillers as needed. Yesterday, I was hurting lots, but the painkillers kept me out of the fetal position zone.
Today isn't too bad. I'm starting in on solid food again and the pain is much less. I can still feel the stitches in my mouth, but I'm assured that they will fall out on their own.
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement though this. I was bit worried about the whole process, but it has turned out well.
