It's interesting that several peoplpe said the exact same thing I wanted to say.......
Though it could have been that your instincts saved you from being invovled in that accident, it would more likley have been that you would have been past the accident when it happened. You wouldn't have been there to lend your energy and comfort to those who needed it.
On a side note - I'm disgusted that it took 40 minutes for the ambulance to get there. At least they knew by then they might need the helicopter! Another 30 minutes to load people into the ambulance. That's an awfully long time to be scared and cold and suffering and wondering about whether or not you'll live!!
