Dude, we Anglo kids used to play that too.

Also, if you saw a Corvette Stingray (ye gods, the 70s...) you could slap someone. I forget what we used to yell to accompany the slap. "Stingray Blue! No stingbacks!" probably.

My brother and I used to punch each other on account of cars with fake wood siding..."beaver" was the war cry for that one...

We also had a "yellow punch buggy no punch backs" for yellow VW beetles.

What kids won't do when it comes to punching each other...

I didn't like the game, mostly cause in my excitement I'd call the colour wrong and get punched as a result...

Also because most of my older friends insist that the new Beetles don't count and thus Beetles are so rare nowadays that it's not worth playing.

What's interesting is that the Volkswagen Beetle which was originally designed at Hitler's request and ended up being used for military purposes during WWII is now the icon of hippies and freelove! :)

Then this must be an Anglo thing (rather than an Ontario thing). Being an isolated Anglo in the wilds of Franco-Quebec, I had never heard of such a thing.

I was surprised (and a bit terrified) when my pure-blood anglo friends started whacking me in the shoulder because they spotted a vw bug.
