Yesterday morning, I bought the tickets to Edmonton via Air Canada. I was surprised to see that AC had the cheapest tickets by $300; the final total (with insurance and taxes) came to $1360 for two tickets (for Zimmerman and myself). Hopefully, my grant application will be accepted and the provincial government will be willing to contribute to our trip's expenses.

I'm NOT a good flyer. I'll be popping a couple of valium pills right before getting on the plane. The last time I flew anywhere, it was an 8 hour flight to Dublin, Ireland. I nearly passed out when I saw the hull of the plane, hanging onto the guardrail for support.

I've been trying to avoid the news out of the UK lately. It's not helping with my composure. I've been distracting myself with configuring me new PC and trying to clean up the sty which is my apartment.

I'm just feeling generally overwhelmed.

Just a few things, in case Air Canada didn't mention it: arrive extra early in case security takes forever, no liquids or gels of any kind (inlcuding beverages, of course) are allowed on board, which you probably already knew, with the exception of prescribed medicines with the name on the label being an exact match to the passenger's travel documents and ID, and I would definitely check in my electronics instead of bringing them in my carry on, just in case they decide that day to confiscate them.

Oh, and, one more thing, I'm a bad flyer too but still, don't worry about it.

Prends courage

When is your plane leaving? so I can send you some comforting soft-flowing energy when you get on... Idea: bring yourself a magazine or book to keep your mind occupied until you fall asleep. It may help if you focus on something calming and safe.

Trip and Thanks

You'll be fine Hobbes and congratulations on going nationwide. I wanted to thank you for your support at the Handfasting. You were wonderful and having you there helped to ease the pain of transition, from watching my child turn into a man.
