Around supper time last night, our part of NDG had a blackout that lasted about 4 hours. Next to my apartment, there's a pedestrain tunnel that is usually very well lit, but with the blackout, it was pitch black from my end until the other end where the light was still on. It can get pretty scary down there, so I took a couple of candles and put them in the tunnel to offer some light.

I then realized that this was an opportunity that I wouldn't get very often, so I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures of the effect.

I invite you to name them, if you'd like:

I find the first one to be comforting, but the second is downright creepy.

Tee hee. The first one, without the candle in the foreground could be "the light at the end of the tunnel" :P

That was my first idea, but then I though having the candle there, I could call it Guiding Light

The black and white picture looks like something straight out of a horror film...

it's amazing how a little lighting change can affect the same area.

Yep - The first one: mystical and entreating, an invitation to a quest or something

The second one: has a, "welcome to resident evil, 28 days later, zombies are going to trap you and there's no escape." effect to it.

I agree, I like Guiding Light, but what about Fire Flight or maybe The Long Road, or Going the distance, or the Long Way Out? The Light in the Dark? The Battle of Light vs Dark.

I love the way the candle makes it look so long. It's truly a piece of art. Can you forward that to me by e-mail? I'd love to print it and frame it for my apartment.. If it's ok with you of course.

The second one I would call Alcatraz. It reminds me of a tunnel under a prison. From what I've seen in the movies and tv of course... Creepy....

Maybe you can help?

Hey it's Tyler Mulligan here. You may remember me better if I say I'm the up and coming Stag King. Anyways I went in search of you because on Thursday I go off mountain climbing on a school trip and was hoping you might have a genuinely spooky story I could borrow to tell about the camp fire. If you have any thoughts they would be appriciated, and I can be contacted at retro_revolution101@hotmail.com
