So I went for my first session of Cosom Hockey (ball hockey) at the YMCA. Who knew that this activity would be so hard on the system? After only 15 minutes, my legs were burning and my gut was hurting. After 30 minutes (with breaks), I was sweating clean through my sweatshirt. After 60 minutes, I had to call it a night. I had a headache, felt faint, and the panting was heavy (calm down ladies).

But it was fun! What I liked about it was that the guys weren't hyper competitive, which turns me right off. I just wanna play; I don't care about winning/losing. I managed to make a few good passes (resulting in a goal) and I got a few solid shots on goal (but no result). Not bad for a guy who hasn't played in 20 years.

So I'll be playing this game on Tuesday nights for the next 10 weeks. Now I just need to get to the gym two more times a week and that'll be my 3 times a week. What's brought this on? I saw pictures of myself during my Cuba trip: something's gotta give somewhere.

First, good for you!

Second, in addition to what silly_imp advises, I just want to add what I'm sure you already know about water intake being so incredibly important before, during and after these games---dehydration may account for most of the symptoms you experienced.

Anyway, have fun and congratulations on taking the initiative! You're an inspiration!
