Wow... Four comments on my first real LJ post. I'm so poopular! I think you may be onto something kaliko_mel and concordantnexus about the whole social club thing. My main blog is more about my observations on life in general, but only occasionally I'll post personal stuff about my day-to-day struggles in the big city.

Call me a blog whore, but if LJ means I get more comments, I can't say I'm not tempted. I'm not made of stone, dammit!

Okay... so I'm trying to figure out this posting thing. sarahcarotte says that I should be able to pick the picture that appears next to my postings, but I don't see the thingamabobbe that would allow me to do that. Is it a paid account thing?

Free accounts get 3 images to choose from when posting, paid accounts get much more. You can modify your user pictures via http://www.livejournal.com/editpics.bml and can choose which one to use from the "picture to use" drop down on the Journal update page (http://www.livejournal.com/portal/). All of the various LJ posting clients also have ways to set the image.

did you upload new pics? even free accounts should get a couple of icons' worth of availability. You also have to associate them with descriptive words - don't remember exactly where at this point because I'm seriously distracted by lack of sleep and paranoia about the US UnElection.

I did upload the three pics, but I didn't label them. Maybe that's what I need to do. In my post page, there's no field or button that allows me to change the picture.

Ye Gods... I hope this isn't a Firefox incompatibility. That would suck.

maybe, just maybe, try looking for something that says 'more information' because there used to be two versions of the update page. unlikely, but that might be the problem.
